Description: Responsibilities:
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in preparing cost proposals - Develop system designs and system architectures to meet project requirements - Develop Interface Control Documents - Manage Project Requirements - Manage project technical achievements against requirements - Perform trade off studies and analyses to assess design choices - Lead risk management activities to identify, evaluate, and mitigate program and technical risks - Prepare and present technical information to customers and senior executives - Develop detailed system integration plans and test plans - Coordinate test activities with DoD and civilian facilities during project development, certification and production phases - Prepare and evaluate engineering change proposals - Mentor and train engineering staff in technology and processes
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline with minimum of 10 years experience as a Systems Engineer preferably specializing in the design and development of defense electronic communications equipment. - Proven track record in leading integrated product teams (IPT) through the elements of systems architecture; embedded safety-critical electronics, software, mechanical design, and test planning. - Experience in transitioning products from design to manufacturing, preferably in the defense market. - Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to prepare and present coherent technical reports, and test and evaluation reports, on systems being developed - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with subordinates and managers to meet project milestones - Demonstrated capability to assess electrical and electronic design issues and related mechanical design issues - An understanding of the ITARS regulatory framework is desirable
